If it's absolutely mandatory to use the external converter, then you'll need to find the clipping point of the radio volume FIRST, before attaching the converter. Once that volume setting is determined, leave the volume at that level, attach the external converter, then adjust the level on the converter until it begins to show clipping on the CLEAN "IN" LED.

The R2 amplifier has a built-in converter, so if it's not mandatory, just use the one built-in to the amplifier.

When doing the CLEAN setup, no speakers should be connected. When doing the CLEAN "IN", there is only 1 LED to determine the clipping point of the radio. This affects all channels of the amplifier. For the CLEAN "OUT", there are individual settings for Front/Rear (R2-300X4, R2-500X4) or Front/Rear/Sub (R2-750X5). Use the corresponding test tone for the speakers residing on that channel. For example, we recommend 5dB on mids/tweeters and 10dB for subs. Therefore, if running mids/tweeters on the FRONT channels, use a -5dB @ 1kHz tone. If running subs bridged on the rear channels, use a -10dB @ 40Hz tone.

Yes, once you choose the right track (say 1kHz +5dB for mids/tweets) adjust the MASTER VOLUME on the radio so the R2-500X4 INPUT LED just begins to clip. Then adjust the LC7i-Pro OUTPUT so the same INPUT LED just begins to clip (this will give you the hottest signal possible going into the amplifier). Then you'll adjust the R2-500X4 OUTPUT level as shown in the video above.

@@Thizz2979 You'll need to adjust the gain settings first so you have a baseline to set the AccuBass. Then you may need to go back and tweak the gain setting for the subwoofer amplifier using the revised AccuBass setting.

@@rockfordfosgate I see, an AR and MRR are different. It seems like what I am doing might not work then. I'm trying to replace a stock stereo to an alpine ILX-407 deck in a 2015 Nissan Rouge. I have a DSR1 I didn't use from an install a few years ago. I'm guessing this car needs a ADS-MRR for the conversion because its a newer car?

@@rheadog9546 You can flash the DSR1 to UNIVERSAL MODE so you can use it for your signal processor, then add your data interface to communicate with Nissan’s controls.

@@CHIM601 There are updates to Skyline that dramatically change the DSP setting in the factory amplifier and speaker setup. We have been doing these updates for the past 2 weeks at Black Hills H-D and everyone is beyond happy. If your amplifier software isn’t at 1,300 or higher, you absolutely must do these updates. To see your software version: Press the “Gear Icon > Sound Settings > Speaker Setup”. When the dialog comes up, press “Yes”, then press “ Show Info” under the selected amplifier.

@@IlicilhoNetto No cables are included. Your bike must be equipped with the PTT controls. ‘14-18 has a wired cable system and 19+ uses a WHIM. The PMX-HD14 is compatible with both.

@@totalenergy80 The M2-8 are rated to handle *up to* 250 Watts RMS and the M2-65 are rated to handle *up to* 150 Watts RMS. Note the power handling does not need to match the amp output. The speaker can handle *up to* that power rating, but only need 30% of that to operate efficiently. You can do two P500X2 amplifiers. Each channel is rated at 150 Watts x 2 @ 4-Ohm and 223W x 2 Dynamic Power. @rockfordfosgate I have the fosgate Fosgate M2WL-8HB and the power TM400X4ad if I ad the 6 1/2 m2 would it sound better or just keep the 8" and bridge the amp at 2 channels 200 watt at 4 omhs?

@@totalenergy80 Got it .. The M2-8H speaker loaded in that wake tower is 300 Watts RMS. Can you clarify the application, because I'm assuming the M2WL-8H speakers are on the wake tower. If you added the M2-65 speakers, those would likely be mounted near the seating area. Either doubling the power to the existing speakers or doubling the cone area would technically give you +3dB gain. However, you're using a driver less than 8" so I'm guessing it would be around +2.5dB. Either way it will be a noticeable increase in output.

@@coolman191806 What type of noise? If the if the volume is down and you hear a hissing sound, that is normal. however if it sounds like a very loud buzzing noise, it sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere along the line. Check your connections at the radio and at the amplifier.

@@rockfordfosgate if I disconnect the white RCA-front the noise goes away. But I moved/wiggled the “front” plug that connects to the amp and it makes popping noises.

@@coolman191806 Great! Sounds like you narrowed it down. Check the pins on the molex connector, we’ve seen a couple where the pins don’t get seated properly and this can cause the noise. Pull on each wire, and if one pulls out, carefully reinsert the wire into the plug until it clicks into place.

@rockfordfosgate I bought the stage two kit. It included the four speakers and a eight channel Amp. The dealer said, that I could have up to eight speakers on that one Amp. I am just going to go with six.

@@adammccallon7952 Be sure the Audio Routing is configured: Go to SETTINGS (EQ sliders bottom left) > HEADSET ICON > AUDIO ROUTING. MUSIC/MEDIA should be set to “Speaker”

@@rockfordfosgate thank you for the extremely quick response. I figured out what the problem was. It was actually due to the fact the dealer pulled my left side saddlebag during my last service. When they put it back on, they did not plug in the amplifier that’s in the left side saddleback. I plugged everything back in and problem solved!

@@rockfordfosgate that is correct. I had one subwoofer (right side) installed with the secondary amplifier. Only reason I brought that up is when my Harley dealer ran digital tech secondary amplifier remains disabled. Also why is my subwoofer (right) grayed out under speaker configuration? My stage 2 front and stage 3 lid speakers are not grayed out so I'm little bit confused that this subwoofer configuration is working properly just because it's grayed out. Even looking at your older videos when you guys did installs on stage 2 front or stage 3 lids I can tell from those videos subwoofers were lid up on your install bike. So what is wrong with mine? What did the dealer do wrong? Or what can I do on my end to get this fix? Cause my dealer is very confused about this and they don't have a answer why my subwoofer is grayed out.

@@bartii8311 While I'm not sure why the subwoofer is grayed out, it's possible there are different versions between Digital Tech and the Skyline OS configuration. Do you happen to know the software version loaded? You should be at least 1,300 or higher. By chance are you here at Sturgis? We're performing Skyline OS software updates at Black Hills H-D all week long and would be happy to look at your bike and do any updates as needed.

@@bartii8311 Our OEM Audio tech is actually here at Sturgis, but I spoke with him and it everything is configured properly on your motorcycle since digital tech enables the subwoofer left and right to “appear” on the Skyline screen (it does not matter whether it’s left or right because it’s a mono signal for the subs). I understand skyline will be rolling out additional software updates next month that should solve the “grayed-out” issue.

@@MattieXMoto While we haven’t tested functionality of the Cardo, the amplifier simply acts as a Bluetooth speaker. However it can tie to the Harley-Davidson Audio Powered by Rockford Fosgate App to change volume setting dynamically based on GPS speed. If the cardo can perform this function with a traditional Bluetooth speaker, then this should work the same.

If you have an iPhone, you setup the audio routing to direct calls to go through the helmet only. General > Bluetooth > Device Type [headphone]

Great! Thanks for the feedback on our videos! Double check the hardware for the latch down system and the hinge. The larger 6x9" speakers can move some air, but we didn't had any excessive rattles on this bike nor our hero build that got unveiled at the Harley-Davidson Museum last week. -Eric

They are $5499 US. It's cheaper to buy the kit then buy all the pieces separately (speakers, DSP, Amplifiers, Subwoofers, enclosures, wiring). Also, this isn't a cut-in speaker replacement with 1 amp, it's a complete high-performance CANbus integrated solution with pre-tuned DSP.
